The University of Maryland (UMD) follows the StandOut Admissions Network and Common App fee waiver criteria. Requests through the StandOut Admissions Network will process in 1 to 3 business days and those through Common App will process in 7 to 10 business days.
In addition to the criteria for each application platform, UMD waives the application fee for high school seniors who are National Merit, National Achievement or National Hispanic finalists or semifinalists, as well as on an individual basis for extenuating circumstances.
Fee waivers for these cases can be requested in two ways:
To submit a request to have your application fee waived, please email the required documentation to ApplyMaryland@umd.edu prior to submitting your application.
