Terrapin Tour - 1:00 p.m.

Join us for an in-person, student-led, 90-minute walking tour of UMD's beautiful campus and learn more about what it's like to #BeATerp! During the summer months, don't forget to check the weather and come prepared with comfortable walking shoes, hat/sunglasses, sunscreen and water bottle which can be refilled at water stations around campus during the tour.

We ask that you please only register for one on-campus tour, as reserving multiple tour spots at once will limit the availability to others. If your preferred date does not appear on the registration page, that date is currently at capacity. Please check back frequently, as space will open as cancellations are processed.

To ensure the wellbeing and safety of our guests and campus community as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that all registered individuals (and their guests) abide by the following guidance. UMD’s guidelines are aligned with federal, state and county guidelines for K-12 guests participating in events and activities on campus.

In order to participate in an on-campus Terrapin Tour you must agree to:
  • Only bring up to two (2) guests with you during your visit. No exceptions will be made for larger groups.
  • Show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of your scheduled visit. Supporting documentation will be required at check-in.
  • Wear a mask or face covering at all times when in an information session or in a classroom. The mask or face covering should be secured under your chin and over your nose.
  • Remain physically distanced from other guests.
  • Cancel your visit if you are experiencing any symptoms or are feeling ill. To cancel, please email visit@umd.edu using the subject line "Visit Cancellation”.

Finance

Consistently ranked as one of the best values in public higher education, you can rest assured that you will receive an affordable world-class education.

College is a major investment for you and your family. The university is here to help. We offer an array of financial aid programs—including scholarships, grants, loans and student employment—as part of our commitment to making an excellent education affordable.

ESTIMATED COST OF ATTENDANCE:

State of Maryland Residents   Non-Maryland Residents

The University of Maryland has launched a new investment in need-based financial aid, the Terrapin Commitment program, which will provide up to $20 million annually for students from the state of Maryland.

The goal of the Terrapin Commitment program is to reduce the gap between a student’s total financial aid package and the cost of an education. The program will begin in January 2023 and ensures that tuition and fees are fully covered for Pell eligible, in-state students, who are enrolled full time and have unmet financial need. More details can be found on the Office of Student Financial Aid's website.
